Stay at The George Hotel

My husband and I stayed at The George for a couple of nights recently. Check in was friendly and efficient. We were allocated our preferred room, 72, and as promised a bottle of cava was chilling on ice in our room as a kind gesture due to a hiccup during our last stay.
The hotel is very conveniently located for all that Lichfield has to offer. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Breakfast was of a high standard, buffet style, full English available along with cereals, fruit, yogurt and pastries. Toast was offered along with tea and coffee, all very tasty and nicely cooked.

Professional polite staff, good old fashioned values. Great location, warm and welcoming. Great value in bar. Breakfast good, hot and tasty. Rooms comfortable and clean. Lovely decor. Definitely would go back!

Me & my partner have just spent 2 nights at the Hotel & I must say, we thoroughly enjoyed the Hotel, from its quirky squeaky floorboards & the decor around the hotel, which is in keeping with the history of the building & surrounding area, it was a perfect place to stay for a couple of nights. The breakfast is very good too, lost of choice & ample food & drink too. We will be staying there again at our next opportunity, that's for sure. The staff at reception & the bar were all polite & very helpful too. Overall a very enjoyable stay, well done to all

Had a very enjoyable stay. Location excellent value for money very good. All staff friendly and helpful. Had a very nice room with all amenities, very clean. This is a city centre hotel so was expecting some noise but didn’t hear anything as our room was to the rear.

I thought the hotel was excellent this week, with particularly helpful staff including Cynthia who maintained my room, the helpful barman and the catering staff both at breakfast and also dinner last night. I was very pleased with my room, including the bath and the extra pillows. Also the good real ale in the bar.
In my late seventies, I am unsure if I will visit Lichfield again, but should I do so, I will certainly seek to book with the George.

Spent a really nice night at The George. The staff were lovely, friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and tidy. A fan had been proved without having to ask for one - in the sticky heat this year that was a godsend! Had a drink at the bar and a sit in the cute little courtyard, which was all very nice. The bed was probably the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept on! And there was no noise to be heard from any other guests, so a great night's sleep was had. Breakfast was really quite nice (decent sausages, in a hotel buffet breakfast? Who knew that was possible?) - and very necessary! All in all, a very successful stay and won't hesitate to book again.

Exceptional staff and service throughout. Great food and wine and delivered with beaming smiles and friendly words. Ideally placed in the center of everything in Lichfield. Keep up the good work it was an absolute pleasure.

Me and a party of 12 held a reunion here recently and were treated superbly. The hotel is traditional with the emphasis on looking after its visitors. The bedrooms were clean, with everything you could need. The meals were excellent as was the service from reception to waitresses. I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel. Thank you for making our reunion memorable.

Great overnight stay, lovely breakfast and fine Sunday lunch in the bar. Perfect location for visiting cathedral, museums, parks, shops etc. quaint city with interesting history. Room had tv at end on bed on a turntable novel idea. Bed v comfy, bathroom fine. Not a corporate hotel, was slightly quirky, and we liked it for that.
