The George is conveniently located in Lichfield city centre.

The hotel offers free parking and a choice of comfortable rooms, one with private bar facilities, which are suitable for small gatherings and for larger receptions of up to 110 guests - it’s the perfect environment in which to remember the life of a loved one and pay tribute with family and friends.

Whether you choose a finger buffet reception, an afternoon tea or a three course meal in our carvery restaurant, the occasion will be sympathetically tailor made to suit you by our experienced staff. One of our Managers will greet you and your guests on arrival and our attentive staff will serve refreshments and stay on hand throughout the reception.

Reception Drinks

Reception drinks are served on arrival. A fully licensed bar is available which can be offered on a cash or account basis.

Orange juice: £5.50 per jug
Sherry: £3.40 per glass
House wine: £19.50 per 75cl bottle
Prosecco: £5.75 per glass

Alternative reception drinks are available. Prices include VAT and are subject to change.

Celebrations Of Life

We are happy to advise you on the special touches that can make a Celebration of Life a truly memorable occasion. Some examples of what we can arrange are listed below.

Live music (pianist, string quartet, harpist): Price on request

Accommodation

For guests who may have to travel a distance, we can arrange bedrooms at the hotel if required.

Our 45 ensuite bedrooms combine modern comfort and amenities with the building's original architectural features and are furnished in a range of styles. We offer a selection of room types, each as individual as the hotel itself. Please mention at the time of booking and we will let you know the best available rate.

"My husband loved the George hotel, so it had to be the place for us to join together family and friends after his funeral.
It was a lovely intimate setting, a small gathering of 30.
We had a warm welcome from Tim on our return, lovely tea/coffee, sandwiches, cakes and pastries. All lovely and fresh, may I add, we also had the use of the bar, to raise a glass to my Ian.
We were never rushed even though it was held late afternoon.
