Our popular Murder Mystery evenings allow you to put your investigative skills to the test and enjoy an evening of murder, mystery and intrigue, courtesy of Murder Mystery Productions. The story unfolds during dinner and it’s up to you to work out “whodunnit” by questioning the characters and examining the clues. The evenings are great fun, but, be warned, they sell out frighteningly fast!

Intimate Theatre is a virtual company of accomplished local actors. Their past sell out performances at Best Western The George Hotel have included Dylan Thomas' "Under Milkwood" and Alan Bennett's "Talking Heads".

Noel Coward’s “Private Lives” is one of the twentieth century’s greatest classic comedies.  The play centres around a divorced couple honeymooning at the same hotel in France with their brand new partners. When they happen to meet across a balcony their passions are rekindled….

Christmas Voices
Intimate Theatre presents Christmas Voices, a specially designed compilation of light hearted poetry, music and drama for the festive season which will keep everyone thoroughly entertained. The George provides the perfect backdrop for the show, which combines old favourites with originals and humour with pathos and is an essential part of the Christmas celebrations at the hotel.

The admission price of £9.50 includes a mince pie and a glass of mulled wine!

See the best live comedians on the circuit on the 1st Thursday of every month.

During these fun and informal flower days, Anne Brown of Tiaras & Flowers will inspire you with some stunning yet simple ideas for decorating your home this Christmas with table arrangements, wreaths, posies and garlands.
Following Anne’s demonstration you’ll have the opportunity to take a closer look at the floral designs, before enjoying a delicious carvery lunch in our restaurant.  There’s also the chance to win one of Anne’s fabulous arrangements in a raffle, the proceeds of which will be donated to St Giles Hospice.
